Clerk: Announcing Clerk | Annouce events for clerking in the swimmers’ area. |
Clerk: Block Clerk | Stand behind the blocks and make sure the correct swimmers are swimming in each heat. |
Clerk: Door Clerk | Stand at the pool entrance and allow the next set of swimmers to enter. Also, typically ensure that parents are not trying to enter in the same area that the swimmers are entering. |
Clerk: Gathering Clerk | Organize swimmers into heats and lanes in preparation for their events. |
Clerk: Head Clerk | Organize other clerks and make sure swimmers get to their events on time. |
Clerk: Pool Side Clerk | Stand on the pool deck and move the next heat of swimmers to the Block Clerk. |
Concessions | Sell concessions during the meet. |
Floater | Help as needed per coaches or Volunteer in Charge. |
Heat Winner Ribbons | Hand a ribbon to the winner of each heat. |
Officials | Must have taken officials training class. Must attend officials meeting. May be any of the following: Administrative Official, Stroke and Turn Judge, Relay Take-Off Judge, Place Judge, Chief Judge, Starter, Deck Referee, or Meet Referee. |
Results Poster | Get printed results from the scoring table and post them in a specific location. |
Ribbon Writer | Put labels on ribbons and sort them by team. |
Runner | Collect papers from timers and officials after every event and give them to the scoring table. |
Safety Monitor | Walk the team areas and check locker rooms for any problems. |
Timer: Head Timer | Attend timer’s meeting. Start and stop two stopwatches simultaneously at the beginning of each race and exchange watches with any timer who has had trouble with their watch. |
Timer: General Timer | Attend timer’s meeting. Start and stop a stopwatch and/or plunger for each race. Write down relevant times and verify swimmer’s names. Each meet will have a meeting to explain the specifics of that meet’s timing responsibilities. |
Volunteer in Charge | Organize volunteers at the start of each session. Must have experience. |
